Behavior Training and Mentorship Program for Regional Crisis a
nd Provider Organizations
OTAC provides a series of training programs that includes technical assistance and instruction in understanding behavior, functional assessment, and behavior support planning. Participants will learn about assessment tools and how to use visual tools and environmental strategies to help improve the lives of people they support.
The Mentorship provides up to 40 hours of on-site technical assistance and training. OTAC specialists work closely with the behavior specialist/candidate and leave staff to complete functional assessments and behavior support plans that include proactive behavior strategies, data analysis and teaching the plan to staff.
The Mentorship program provides the behavior specialist/candidate with up to 40 hours of on-site technical assistance and training with OTAC behavior specialists. During this mentorship period, candidates will work closely with OTAC specialists to develop a functional assessment and behavior support plan. In addition, candidates will receive support with developing proactive behavior strategies, data analysis and teaching of the completed plan to staff.
OTAC Behavior Trainings include:
- Behavior Skills Enhancement (foundation in PBS and assessment tools)
- Behavior Specialist (intensive training on functional assessment and behavior support planning)
- Visual Tools and Environmental Strategies (hands-on training with persons with Autism)
- On-site Mentorships
