Resources for Nurses

Thank you to the over 100 people who participated in our first Webinar training. Despite our initial technical difficulties getting started, we were able to cover a lot of content in a short period of time. We’d like to extend special thanks to Terry Ritner, RN, for her participation representing the DD Licensing Unit at SPD.

During the training, we referenced the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Visit their website to download resources such as the Nurse Practice Act, including information about Delegation & Assignments, RN scope of practice, etc.

There are other helpful resources to be found on the Seniors & People with Disabilities Community Nursing Tools webpage provided by the Health Support Unit at DHS. Tools include a downloadable DD Nursing Manual and a wide variety of Caregiver Self-Study courses.

If you were unable to join us for the Webinar, you may download an audio file of the presentation and listen on your own computer. The audio is divided into two segments: slideshow/lecture (not yet available, check back later this week) and live Q & A. The audio files are in standard .mp3 format.

You may also download a copy of the PowerPoint slideshow that we presented during the Webinar.

If you have a question about the ISP process as it relates to nursing, you may email Alan directly at alytle@otac.org.
